CATALYST Insights Vegetation Monitoring Demo
This demo showcases how Sentinel-2 multispectral imagery can be used to monitor vegetation condition and land-cover transformation. The study presents NDVI values across the Lumen Field pitch, home of the Seattle Seahawks, tracking the full conversion from synthetic turf to natural grass ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026. By analyzing repeat optical satellite observations, NDVI time series can capture vegetation signal trends observed between September 2025 and June 2026, spanning the pre-tournament installation phase through to tournament-ready turf establishment.
This capability supports improved situational awareness for facilities management and asset condition monitoring, extending naturally to agriculture, land management, and infrastructure vegetation portfolios at much larger scale.
