Working with files and data

You can work with data in a variety of formats ranging from GDB through the PCIDSK file format.

Consider converting your data files to PCIDSK format in the following situations:

• You want to take advantage of all the features offered in CATALYST Professional.
• The original format does not support auxiliary information, such as georeferencing, lookup tables, pseudocolor tables, and vectors.
• The original format cannot be updated.
• You want to use your files in CATALYST Professional programs.

CATALYST Professional also features a certified implementation of the National Imagery Transmission Format (NITF) standard, which provides you with the ability to view, format, and export digital imagery and imagery-related products; however, CATALYST Professional is not NITF-certified.
