Adding data to a project

There are several ways in which you can add data to a project. The method you use may vary according to your objectives. On the File menu, you can click Open, and then in the File Selector window, select as many new files to add to a project as you want. You can also add files by using the available Add Layer Wizard to make adding data easier.

When you add data to a project, it appears under the active area on the Maps tab.

To add data to a project

  1. On the Maps tab, right-click the map to which you want to add the data, and then click New Area.

    The new area is added to the selected map.

  2. Drag the data you want to the new area.
  3. Save the project.
    Tip: From an open database, you can also add files on the Files tab.
