Job details Key details about the job:
  • User Comment: displays remarks entered by you or another person involved in running the job. If no one has entered a comment, the JPS displays a default comment, usually the name of the job. You can, if necessary, edit the comment. When you edit the comment, each child job will inherit the revision.
  • Named Tags: set of named tags that apply to the job. Named tags are names with associated values.
  • Status: brief comment each job stores in the JPS database to show its current status. With a complete or failed job, the last-known status displays.
  • State: current state of processing of the child job
  • Priority: the priority of the job, as defined in the parent job. The JPS processing servers select jobs with the highest priority first; jobs with the same priority will be processed on a first-in, first-out (FIFO) basis. Provided the job is not actively running, you can, if necessary, edit the priority. When you edit the priority, each child job, if any exist, will inherit the revision.
Tip: Entering a value of 0 (zero) designates the job as being on hold.
  • User: logon name of the person who created the job
  • Scheduled for: the date and time at which job is scheduled to run. Provided the job is in an active state, you can, if necessary, edit the date, time, or both.
  • Started at: date and time at which processing of the job began
  • Last Activity: date and time the job was last run
  • Elapsed Time: amount of time the job has been running or took to complete the task
  • Wait for completion of: displays the ID of a job that must be completed before this job can run. When no value displays, there is no restriction. When a value does display, you can click it to go to that job.
  • Server: name of the JPS processing server running the job
  • Confine child jobs to same server: a check box indicates whether the current job and its children must run on the same server. A clear check box denotes that the first available processing server will be used for each job.
