Viewing the status of jobs

On the Jobs page, a table displays the jobs currently submitted to the JPS and information about each.

The following table describes the Jobs table.

Column Description
ID Displays the unique ID of the job.
Children Displays the number of child jobs of a parent job. A blank entry means there are no child jobs.
State Displays the current state of the job:
  • Ready
  • Waiting
  • Running
  • Completed
  • Canceled
  • Killed
  • Failed
Elapsed Displays the amount of time the job has been running.
Calculated as:
starting time – last job activity

The accuracy of this value is dependent on the job implementation. If a job regularly updates its status or writes log events, the reported elapsed time will be more accurate.

Status Displays the short comment that each job stores in the JPS Database to show its current status. For completed or failed jobs, this value is the last-known status.
User Comment Displays the comment entered by the user when the job was created or edited. If no user-defined comment is specified, a default value displays.
User Displays the logon name of the user who submitted the job.
Priority Shows the job priority, as defined by the job parameters.

The JPS Processing Servers select jobs with the highest priority first; jobs with the same priority level are selected based on first-in-first-out order.

Title The name of the job, or module being run.
Server The name of the JPS Processing Server running the job.
Started At Displays the date and time that the job started.
