Linking a job

If necessary, you can link two or more jobs together. This is a handy way to ensure they run one after another without delay. When a job is linked to another, processing will start immeditaely after the successful completion of the job to which it is linked.

You can link multiple jobs together to form a procession; however, should processing of any job in the link fail, all jobs linked to that job will also fail.

To link a job

  1. On the Jobs page, find the job that you want to link from.

    If there are many jobs currently in processing, you may need to run a search to find the one you want. For information on how to find a job, see Searching for a job.

  2. After you find the job you want, click the row in which the job you want to link from is located.

    The Job details page appears.

  3. On the Job details toolbar, click Link New job.

    The Select Job Type pop-up window appears.

  4. In the Title column, click the name of the job you want.

  5. Click Submit.
    Note: After you submit a linked job, the ID of the job to which this one is linked displays in the Wait for completion of box on the Job details page. After processing of the job shown is complete, processing of this job will begin.
