Working with response plots

You can calculate and display co-polarization and cross-polarization response (signature) plots for a target on a fully polarimetric data set. You can use the default or customize the response-plot display.

When you define three parameters, you can rotate a response plot in the plot window about the x and z axes to view it from various angles.

Tip: You can rename the title of a response plot by, in the Target Manager window, entering the name in the Description column for the target you want to rename.

To create a response plot with default display options. do the following:
1. Expand Graphical Output, and then click the Response Plot tab.
2. Do one or both of the following, as applicable:
  - In the Type list, select a polarization type.
  - In the Scaling list, select a scaling type.
3. Click Plot.
  The response plot is displayed in the plot window.
To create a response plot with custom display options. do the following:
1. With Graphical Output expanded, on the Response Plot tab, do one or both of the following, as applicable:

  - In the Type list, select a polarization type.
  - In the Scaling list, select a scaling type.
3. Optionally, do one or more of the following:
  - In each of the X range boxes, type a value.
  - In each of the Y range boxes, type a value.
  - In each of the Z range boxes, type a value.
  - Clear or select the Color check box.
4. Click Plot.
  The response plot is displayed in the plot window.
To view a plot from various angles, do the following:
1. With Graphical Output expanded, on the Response Plot tab, do one or both of the following, as applicable:
  - Drag the X rotate slider.
  - Drag the Y rotate slider.
2. Click Plot.
  The response plot is displayed in the plot window.

Note: On the Preferences menu, when Plot Options is Interactive, the response plot is displayed in Gnuplot, a third-party software program distributed with CATALYST Professional. Gnuplot provides you with additional control over the plot settings, such as the display of x and y values in the histogram. You will find Gnuplot in the thirdparty folder of your CATALYST Professional installation.
