Rotating kappa

You can rotate the kappa of images.

Note: With a Digital or Scanned-film project, you must first import the exterior orientation (EO) before you can rotate the kappa. That is, the Rotate Kappa command is available only after you have imported the EO into your project.
The EO consists of several parameters; namely:
  • Photo ID
  • X (Easting)
  • Y (Northing)
  • Z (Elevation)
  • Omega
  • Phi
  • Kappa

The EO applies to the center of the photo. Omega, phi and kappa correspond to the pitch of the aircraft (nose pointing up or down), roll (whether the aircraft is slanted) and yaw (heading in relation to North).

To rotate the kappa

  1. In the leftmost pane of the Project Overview window, select one or more images for which you want to rotate the kappa.
  2. On the toolbar, click Rotate Kappa.
That is, if the selected kappa rotation is not the one you want, click the arrow beside Rotate Kappa, and then on the menu that appears, click the rotation that you want:
    • Rotate Clockwise by 90 Degrees
    • Rotate Counterclockwise by 90 Degrees
    • Rotate by 180 Degrees

Notice that on the toolbar the kappa rotation you clicked is now selected for Rotate Kappa.
