Adding a line or a polygon to an active layer

If necessary, you can add one or more lines or polygons to an active layer.

To add a line or a polygon to an active layer

On the Editing toolbar, click the arrow beside New Shapes, and then click Line or Polygon, as applicable.
In the view pane, click where you want to add the first point of the line or polygon.
Repeat step 2 for each additional shape that you want to digitize.
To complete the shape, double-click the last vertex.
