Applying an enhancement

There are various ways you can enhance images. On the Enhancement toolbar, you can apply quick adjustments to your image data, such as a Linear enhancement. You can also adjust the contrast and brightness, and also apply a more advanced contrast and brightness adjustment. you can apply various commands from the Raster toolbar or from the context menu available when you right-click an item on the Maps tab. The changes you make apply only to layers selected on the Maps tab or, if no layers are selected, to the active layer.

When you select multiple map layers and apply an enhancement, the information from the selected layers is aggregated together to build a single enhancement. The enhancement is then applied to each of the selected map layers. This can be useful if, for example, you have viewed multiple tiles of the same data. You can select all of the tiles and ensure they are enhanced as a unit, as opposed to being enhanced independently.

Note: To apply enhancements to multiple layers, each layer selected on the Maps tab must be of the same type (either grayscale or RGB) and all must be of the same bit depth. For more detailed custom enhancements, you can use LUT Editor. Image enhancement is applied only in system memory. If you want to reuse a particular lookup table (LUT), or if you want to export the enhanced image, you must first save it.
