Selecting units of measure

You can set up Measurement Tools to use a unit of measure for various items, such as lines, areas, and angles.

To select a unit of measure for an item

  1. Zoom or pan the image, as necessary, to the area of interest.
  2. On the toolbar, click the arrow beside Measurement Tools, and then on the menu that appears, point to the item for which you want to select a unit of measure, and then click the unit you want.

    For example, to select hectares as your unit of measure for area, point to Area Units, and then click Hectares.

    A bullet (•) appears next to the unit of measure, indicating it is selected.
