Designing a single, double, or triple scale bar

In the Scale bar Properties window, clickClick the Scale Bar Type tab, and then under Scale Bar Type, make sure Single bar, Double bar, or Triple bar is selected.
Beside Colors, click the arrow beside a box, and then select a color from the palette.
In the Scale bar height spin box, type or select a value to represent the total height of all sections in the scale bar, and then from the list to the right, select a unit of measurement.
With a triple-bar style, you can set the height of the middle row differently than the top and bottom rows. In the Middle section height box, type or select a value to represent the height of the middle row of the scale bar.
Under Outline, make sure the Show outline check box is selected, and then beside Style, click the button, and create an outline style (see Selecting a style).
