Deleting a file

If necessary, in the File Utility window, you can delete a file.

Important: Deleting a file permanently removes it from disk. Consider making a backup of the file, if necessary.

To delete a file

On the File menu, click Delete.
A message appears, prompting you to confirm the action.
To permanently delete the file, click Yes; otherwise, to cancel the action, click No.
If you clicked Yes, the file is removed from disk.

Note: Some formats can have associated files that when being used by another program may prevent you from deleting the file. You may need to first close the program or programs referencing the file before you can delete it.
