The following is an example of the output created for a mosaic project with Halifax specified as the name of the output mosaic project:
Halifax.mos: Output mosaic project file, also known as the source-image list file, and is required as input for mosaic generation. The file contains information about the images to include in the mosaic, the order in which to add them, and related information and parameters.
Halifax.report.txt: Summary of the mosaic-preparation process. It includes an overall summary and details about each image processed.
[Halifax] folder: Output folder of generated files related to the mosaic output. The folder is named according to the base name of the output file.
Description files: For each input scene of the mosaic, a file is created in Extensible Markup Language (XML) format. The file is named according to the scene ID of the image, such as image1.xml, image2.xml, and so on. Each file contains information about the scene, such as NoData value, normalization, and color balancing.
[misc] folder: Contains miscellaneous files you can modify in CATALYST Professional Mosaic Tool before generating the final mosaic image.
Halifax_cutline_preview.pix: Contains a polygon-vector segment that is a combination of all cutlines in the project.
Halifax_cutline_topology.pix: Contains a polygon-vector segment that is a topology of all cutlines in the project, based on the sort order. The polygons in this segment are constructed such that there is no overlap between the polygons.
Halifax_data_extents.pix: Contains a polygon-vector segment that is the extents of valid data in each source image.
Halifax_image_status.txt: Created during mosaic preparation for use by Mosaic Tool to track changes and facilitate multiuser environments.
Halifax_mosaic_preview.pix: Low-resolution preview of the image mosaic. When you open Halifax.mos in Mosaic Tool, the low-resolution preview is opened automatically.
Halifax_auto_constraints.pix (optional): Created during processing when autoconstrain is used to generate the cutlines. The file contains, most importantly, the derived constraint polygons layer.
Halifax_dodging_points.pix (optional): Created only the color balancing is Bundle. The file contains points for local color-balancing adjustments.
[masks] folder (optional): Contains a file in PCIDSK format for each image in the mosaic that contains a mask. A mask can be used during color balancing and cutline generation. Each mask file is named according to the scene ID of the image and appended with a _mask suffix, such as image1_mask.pix.
