Setting up email notification on a job

With many CATALYST Enterprise modules you can set up the job to send an email message about the job status to one or more recipients. When this option is selected, a message is sent to each recipient on job start and on job completion. The message is sent shortly after the job begins, reporting on the current status of the job, and also on job completion, advising whether the job ran successfully.

To set up email notification on a job

  1. When creating a new job or otherwise submitting a job, on the Submit new job page, select the Send Email Notification check box.
  2. In the Email Addresses box, type the email address of each recipient, separating each address with a comma or semi-colon.
    Note: If your user properties are set up with an email address, the address appears in the Email Addresses box by default.
  3. Set up the remaining parameters of the job, as necessary, and then click Submit Job.

    Approximately one minute after the job begins, the job-start message is sent to each recipient.

    The following is an example of a job-start message for a mosaic-generation job:

    On job completion, another message is sent to each recipient; however, if the job finishes before the job-start message is sent, only the job-completion message will be sent.
