Collection Viewer

When you open raw images, such as while collecting fiducial marks, manual ground control points (GCP), or tie points (TP), the Collection Viewer displays . You can configure the viewer to display up to three panes, the layout of the panes, and what displays in each.

Additionally, you can select:
  • The color to use for the bounding box
  • How to orient raw images
  • Whether to display scroll bars in the main viewer
  • Whether you want views to resize proportionally
  • Whether to automatically re-arrange the viewers when you open a new image
  • The maximum number of viewers per column
  • The maximum number of viewers to display

To set up the Collection Viewer

  1. In the Layout list, click the layout you want for the collection viewer:
    To display Select
    Only the main view Classic
Main view in the rightmost portion of the viewer Main right
Main view in the lower portion of the viewer, zoom view in the upper-left corner, and overview in the upper-right corner Main bottom

Main view in the rightmost portion of the viewer and the zoom view in the leftmost portion No overview
  2. Under Bounding box color, click , and then from the palette, select a color for the bounding box.

If you want to use a custom color, click More. For example, you can specify a color by its RGB (red, green, blue) value. If you do not want to use a color for the bounding box, click None.

  3. Under Raw image orientation, select how you want to orient the images:
    • Raster up: image displays according to the orientation of the pixels.
    • North up: image displays according to the orientation of north.

It is advantageous to use the existing math model to display the image by North up. This make sit easier to compare features with other geocoded images or vectors, because each will have the same orientation.

  4. Do one or more of the following:
    • To display scroll bars in the main viewer, select the Show scroll bars in main viewer check box.
    • To have each view resize proportionally in the viewer, select the Resize views proportionally check box.
    • To re-arrange all open viewers when you open an additional image, select the Re-arrange all viewers as new images open check box.
Note: This option does not apply when open viewer windows are maximized.
    • To constrain the number of viewers per column when displaying multiple viewers, type or select the number in the Maximum number of viewers per column box.

For example, to have six viewers display in a two-by-three grid, enter 3. This is the default value.

    • To constrain the total number of viewers that can display, type or select a number in the Maximum number of viewers check box.

For example, to allow up to only 12 viewers to display, enter 12.
