Changing the visibility of points

With the Points Visibility tool, you can change the visibility of ground control points (GCP), tie points (TP), check points (CP), point IDs, or all four. Changing the visibility of one or more items helps to declutter the display, making it easier to focus on the task at hand.

By default, Point Visibility is set up to show all the active points in your project and point IDs as visible. However, at times you may want to, for example, see only GCPs, but neither TPs, CPs, nor point IDs. You can turn off the items you do not want, and then turn them on again when you do. Turning off and on the display of points is particularly useful when there is a large number of points in your project.

You can also turn off and on the display of the point IDs.

If you want to change the colors, symbols, or both used to display an item, you can customize the styles used to display the various points.

Note: On the menu, the check mark indicates that the item is visible.

To change the visibility of points

  1. Make sure you have an image open in the viewer that has the point type for which you want to change the visibility.
  2. On the Point Display toolbar, click Point Visibility, and then do the following, as applicable:
    • To turn off or on ground control points, point to GCPs, and then on the new menu that appears, click an item to remove or add a check mark, as applicable.

For example, to show only mono (single) GCPs, click Stereo to remove the check mark.

Tip: You can also quickly turn off or on all items by clicking Deselect All or Select All, as applicable.
    • To turn off or on tie points, point to TPs, and then on the new menu that appears, click an item to remove or add a check mark, as applicable.

For example, to show only TPs with more than two rays, click Two-ray to remove the check mark or, to show only TPs with two rays, but no more than five rays, click Six-ray, and Seven or More Rays, respectively, to remove the check mark beside each.

Tip: You can also quickly turn off or on all items by clicking Deselect All or Select All, as applicable.
    • To turn off or on check points, click CPs to remove or add a check mark, as applicable.
    • To turn off or on point IDs, click Point IDs to remove or add a check mark, as applicable.
    • To customize the styles used to display an item, click Customize Styles, and then proceed to Vector Representation.
