Adjusting pixel values for multiple lakes

This procedure applies only to working with bitmap masks. Presumably, you have a bitmap in which each lake is identified already.

To adjust pixel values for multiple lakes

  1. In Focus, open the file that contains the digital elevation model (DEM) to modify, and make sure the DEM layer is selected.
Tip: You may want to also open some reference data to help you identify the areas in the DEM to edit.
  2. On the Maps tab, make sure the DEM layer is selected.
  3. Click the Layer menu, and then click DEM Editing.

    The DEM Editing window appears.

  4. In the DEM Editing window, click the Edit via Bitmap tab.
  5. Open the mask layer.

For more information, see Opening an existing bitmap-mask layer.

  6. Under Area Fills Under Mask, in the Method list, click Average of Each Shape.
  7. Click Fill.

To save the layer, click Save.
