Selecting all shapes fully within a distance

The Fully Within Distance tool selects only shapes that fall completely within a specified distance of a selected shape. If you do not select a shape, the distance is calculated from the location of the cursor.

  1. On the Editing toolbar, click the arrow beside Selection Tools, and then click the tool you want.
  2. Click a shape or select an area.
  3. On the Editing toolbar, click the arrow beside Spatial Query, and then click Fully Within Distance.
  4. In the Within Distance window, type a number in the Distance box, and then in the list to the right, click a unit of measurement.
  5. Choose a unit of measurement from the list box.
  6. Click OK.
