Setting the angle and style for a true north arrow

A true north arrow is a symbol that indicates the direction of the geographic north pole in an Area.

To set the angle and style for a true north arrow

  1. In the Maps tree, right-click an arrow element, and then click Properties.
  2. In the North Arrow Properties window, click the True North tab.
  3. Make sure the Show true north arrow check box is selected.
  4. In the Angle box, type or select a value to represent the counterclockwise rotation that you want to apply so that the arrow points north, and then in the list to the right, select a unit of angular measurement.
  5. Beside Style, click the button, and then create an arrow style (see Selecting a style).
  6. To add a label to the arrow, make sure the Show arrow label check box is selected, and then in the box to the right, type or select the label you want.

    To customize the position of the label, click Advanced.

  7. To select a style for the label text, beside Style, click the button, and then create a font style.
