Zooming and panning with the overview window

If you have a very large image file open or if your image is zoomed in, you can pan the image in the view pane. While on the Zoom toolbar of the Focus window you can click Pan, you can also pan the image by dragging the bounding box in the overview window to the area of interest (AOI). The overview window displays a smaller version of the image in the view pane and features a bounding box you can use to control the display in the view pane.

Note: The overview window is not displayed by default. You must set up Focus to show the overview window.

The extents for the overview window are based on the extents of all data loaded in the main viewer regardless of the data types set to be shown.

To zoom and pan with the overview window

In the overview window, do the following, as applicable.

To resize, drag a corner of the bounding box.
That is, descreasing the size of the box increases the zoom level, and increasing the size of the box decreases the zoom level.
To pan, drag the bounding box to the AOI.
