Step 3: Selecting coordinate fields, projection, and fields to import

The last step is to select fields for the x, y, and z coordinates, set the projection, and select the fields you want to import.

To select the coordinate fields, projection, and fields to import

  1. Under Coordinate Fields, in the X, Y, and Z lists, respectively, select a field.

    The Projection area becomes available and the Import attributes table is updated.

  2. Under Projection, enter the projection and bounds information, as necessary.
  3. In the table under Import attributes, in the Import column, clear or select check boxes, as necessary, to select the fields you want to import.
  4. Click Finish.

    The ASCII data is imported and converted.
