Before you can create a mosaic, you must first prepare it. Preparing a mosaic is to perform color balancing, generate cutlines, and apply image normalization to the images you added and from which to create the mosaic.
By default, any color balancing and normalization applied previously to the source images and the order of the images is retained. For example, if you applied color balancing to the source images in Focus or OrthoEngine, it is retained in Mosaic Tool. If necessary, you can apply additional color balancing (and change the sort order or apply normalization) in Mosaic Tool.
