Opening the DEM Editing window

You can make changes to a digital elevation model (DEM) in the DEM Editing window.

To open the DEM Editing window

In Focus, open the file containing the DEM you want to modify.
Tip: When editing a DEM, consider opening some reference data to help you identify areas in the DEM to edit. When you initiate DEM editing, and the DEM file has additional channels, a new map layer is created automatically on which the additional channels are displayed.
On the Maps tab, click the DEM layer you want to edit.
On the Layer menu, click DEM Editing.
The DEM Editing window appears.

The viewer displays the DEM using a color-shaded relief. If the DEM file has additional channels, an additional map layer map is also displayed on the Maps tab.
