USGS spectra library files

The splib04a and splib04b SGS spectra library files are distributed in the \$PCIHOME\etc directory. The spectra in splib04a are based on a wavelength sampling in the interval of 200 to 3000 nanometres. These spectra have been acquired in a laboratory, and represent hundreds of different minerals and a few vegetation types.

The spectra in splib04b are derived from those in splib04a through interpolation, done to increase the density of the wavelength sampling. The splib04b spectra may be more reliably resampled to a sensor profile with a very large number of bands. In such a case, the splib04a spectra may not have wavelength samples in some of the sensor band wavelength intervals.

USGS spectra library files (splib04a, splib04b, and versions resampled to match various sensors), SPECPR software, and manuals are available through http://speclab.cr.usgs.gov.
