Image synthesis

The following table lists programs that provide image synthesis capabilities.

Program Description
RANFRAC Evaluate a Random Fraction Map
SPMIX Linear Spectra Mixing

RANFRAC evaluates a set of 32-bit-per-pixel real-valued image channels to be a random fraction map that determines how a set of spectra are to be linearly combined in order to create a synthetic image. SPMIX evaluates the bands of a synthetic image from a set of user-specified spectra and a random fraction map that has been created by RANFRAC.

An example of the use of these programs is in the verification of the accuracy with which ENDMEMB computes a set of endmember spectra. When ENDMEMB is run on a synthetic image evaluated with RANFRAC and SPMIX, then the resulting endmember spectra should be similar to the component spectra that were input by SPMIX.
