Comparing polarization channels

You can compare polarization channels after you have selected a target mode and a target.

To compare polarization channels

  1. In the SAR Polarimetry Target Analysis window, under Target Selection Mode, select a mode.
  2. In the Target Selection window, select a target pixel.
  3. In the SAR Polarimetry Target Analysis window, if not displayed actively, expand Numerical Output.
  4. Under Channel Comparisons, in the lists beside Polarization channel, select a pair of polarization intensity channels.
  5. Select one or more of the following check boxes:
    • Intensity ratio
Note: SAR Polarimetry Target Analysis lists only channels available in the data set and only one of the two reciprocal combinations (for example, HH+HV and HV+HH) is shown.
    • Phase difference
    • Correlation coefficient
  6. Click Compute.

The following are examples of the information displayed in the Results window based on the selected polarization options:

    Intensity Ratio: 1.174 (linear)

    Phase Difference: 38.706 (degrees)

    Correlation Coefficient
Magnitude of the correlation coefficient: 0.251781
Phase of the correlation coefficient: 131.976
Real component of the correlation coefficient: -0.168397
Imaginary component of the correlation coefficient: 0.18718
