Importing a project from DAT/EM

DAT/EM specializes in 3-D feature-collection software with its digital stereoplotter, Summit Evolution, which uses a project file in XML format. Summit Evolution provides a set of powerful tools for discovering and capturing 3-D information from stereo data.

Note: Only raw data can be imported from a DAT/EM project.

To import a project from DAT/EM

  1. In the OrthoEngine window, create a new project or open one to which you want to import the DAT/EM project.
Note: The Math Modelling Method must be Optical Satellite Modelling and the option must be Rational Function (Extract from image).
  2. Set the output projection.
  3. On the Tools menu, point to Import, and then click Project.

    The Import Project window appears.

  4. In the Input file box, type the full path and file name of the DAT/EM project (*.smtxml) you want to import or, to select a file, click Browse.
  5. Under Formats, make sure DAT/EM is selected.
  6. Click Import.

The raw image files in the DAT/EM project and, if it exists, the camera-calibration file, are imported into the OrthoEngine project.
