Mapping RGB

In Mosaic Tool, you can open the RGB Mapping window to view the color content of red, green, and blue data in a multispectral file. If necessary, you can change, or map, the channel data to a color element and see the changes in the view pane. Unlike mapping RGB in Focus, any changes made in Mosaic Tool affect all files displayed, and mapping is based on the number of channels to mosaic. The number of channels you can select to display in RGB is regulated by the number of output channels.

About the RGB Mapping window:
  • Target Map Layer: files (layes) affected by changes to the RGB mapping.
  • Red: channels available for red mapping.
  • Green: channels available for green mapping.
  • Blue: channels available for blue mapping.
  • Output Image Channels: data layers in the target mosaic that can be mapped to red, green, and blue color elements.
  • Input Image Channels: data layers in the input that can be mapped to red, green, and blue color elements. Because all inputs must have the same number of channels, the information provided in this column is read from the selected file, but applies to all input images.

To map red, green, and blue

  1. In the Red, Green, and Blue columns, as applicable, click the row corresponding to the image channel to which you want to apply the filter.
  2. Click Apply.

The changes appear in the view pane.

  3. Click OK.
Note: Changing band combinations cancels any enhancements you have applied. To maintain an enhancement, you must enhance the image again.
