Connecting modules with a pipe

Always connect modules before you configure them, because for some modules the default settings of an input layer can override a module's configuration. An exception is the Import module, which you must configure for it to display a port.

  1. Click the output port of the module you want to connect from.
  2. Click the input port of the module you want to connect to.

    A pipe displays if the output data and the input port are compatible. If they are incompatible, then a pipe will not display.

Tip: You can also connect modules by clicking the input port of one module and the output port of a second module. There is no limit to the number of modules you can connect.
