Grouping shapes

You can group shapes from the same layer to treat them as a single unit. Each shape in a group maintains its original representation and attributes. You can neither select nor modify grouped shapes individually; however, you can change individual attribute values in the Attribute Manager window.

When you group shapes, a new GroupID column is added to the Attribute Manager window. The same group ID is assigned to each record in the group.
