Loading, modifying, and running a sample Python script

In the Python Scripting window, you can load a sample script of a CATALYST Professional algorithm, and then, as applicable, modify the script to suit to emulate the algorithm. That is, you can open the Python script, and then enter the parameter values you want to use. Alternatively, you can use the parameter values as described in the Example section of the Help topic of the algorithm.

You can also choose to write your own Python script from start to finish; however, you should only attempt this if you have sufficent knowledge of Python scripting. If you have any existing Python scripts, you can also open and run them.

You will find the sample scripts in the folder Examples\Python of your CATALYST Professional installation.

Note: When you run a saved Python script, your active working directory is set to that of the script.

To view the examples of a given CATALYST Professional algorithm, see Python algorithm reference .
