On the Selection - Text page, you can set up preferences for text.

Color: changes the color of the insertion point and highlighted text
Highlight insertion point: highlights the area where text associated with a layer is inserted
Highlight text: highlights selected text

To set up preferences for text

On the Selection - Text page of the Options window, do one or more of the following, as applicable:
- Click the Color list, and then select a color from the palette.
  To select from additional colors, on the palette, click More.
- In the Width box, type or select a width for the polygon.
To highlight the area where text is inserted, make sure the Highlight insertion point check box is selected.
To highlight selected text, select the Highlight text check box.
