Using the Flicker tool

With the Flicker tool, you can quickly switch the view between two layers. With two layers selected on the Maps tab, the images "flicker" from the front to the back of the view pane, making it easier to spot subtle differences between them.

Speed
To set the rate of flicker of the image frames, in the Speed box, type or select the number of frames per second you want to use.

Actual speed
Displays the actual frame rate of the flicker when it is running.

Control
The following table describes the buttons that control the flicker effect.

Button Name Description
Play button Play Start the flicker effect
Stop button Stop Stop the flicker effect
Next button Next Go to the next frame in the flicker effect

Current top layer
Displays the name of the layer active in the viewer.

To use the Flicker tool

  1. On the Maps tab of the Focus window, make sure you have the two layers selected for which you want to view the effect.
  2. In the Visualization Tools window, click the Flicker tab, if necessary.

    That is, the Flicker tab is the active tab of the window, by default.

  3. In the Speed box, type or select a value for the rate of flicker, as necessary.
  4. Click Play.

    In the view pane, the display flickers between the two selected layers.
