You can open data from a Postgres database, a Web service, a URL, and through Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) provided the data formats are compatible with GDB technology.
A Web service provides you with access to data published on a server connected to the Web. You can access any Web mapping service (WMS), Web map tile service (WMTS) or Web feature service (WFS) complying with the OGC specifications, and display the data as a layer in the Focus project. The data is read-only. For more information about the Web services, see Connecting to a new external data source.
ODBC creates a connection between CATALYST Professional and a data source such as Microsoft Access. For more information, refer to the 'GDB file formats' section of the CATALYST Professional online Help.
