In the SAR Polarimetry Target Analysis window, you can select a target (group of pixels) in a display of polarimetric SAR image data, extract information about the target, and display this information in textual and graphical format.
With a target analysis you can:
- Determine whether or not the quality of a data set and its calibration are compatible with the intended application of the data set
- Determine the polarimetric parameters to use to discriminate your targets of interest
- Obtain information about the physical characteristics of a target, such as:
- Surface geometry; for example, whether or not a target is a trihedral scatterer or a surface scatterer
- Scattering mode; for example, whether a target is a volume scatterer such as tree crowns or a surface scatterer such as buildings
