The Exterior Orientation Report is only available when project contains imported exterior orientation data. It contains the residual errors for the imported Global Positioning System (GPS) or Inertial Navigation System (INS) data in your project. You will have no residual errors in the report when you only have GPS or INS data in your project since the math model solution is built solely on the GPS or INS data.
You can refine the GPS math model or verify its accuracy with ground control points. To do so, you must collect at least the minimum number of ground control points and tie points needed to build a math model solution without the GPS or INS data.
When you have both ground control and imported exterior orientation, the residual errors on the Exterior Orientation tab show the difference between the original position for the sensor according to the imported exterior orientation and the new position for the sensor according to the math model solution.
