General tab

On the General tab, you can view and make changes to the generic attributes of the area; namely, the name, whether to show an outline, and the scale.

Under Generic:

Name
The name of the area as it appears on the Maps tab.

To change the area name, enter the name you want.
Show Outline
Select the check box to display an outline of the area in the view pane.
Scale
The scale of the area.

To select a new scale, click the list, and then select the scale you want.

To set up a custom scale, click the list, select Custom, and then in the box below, enter the scale you want.
Note: If you enter a decimal value, it will be rounded up to the next integer value.

A thumbnail of the existing settings, and also shows the results of any changes you make.
