On the General tab, you can view and make changes to the general attributes, such as the description, type, and size, and the date on which the layer was created and last modified.
Description
The file name or description of the layer.
The information in the Description box, which you can modify, if necessary, is displayed on the Files tab.
Segment name
The name and description of the layer segment.
The information in the Segment name box, which you can modify, if necessary, is displayed on the Files tab.
Type
The file type of the layer.
Creation date
The time and date the layer was created.
Last updated
The time and date the layer was updated.
Data type
The type of data of the layer.
Shape Count
The number of shapes in the layer.
