In the Vector Save As window, you can save a vector layer from the Maps tree as another file format. You can save the file to the original layer or to a new layer.
Input
The location of the layer and the data type with which you are working.
Layer
The layer type of the active layer.
Save selected shapes only
Saves only the shapes selected in the view pane or the Attribute Manager. When no shapes are selected, the option is unavailable. If you have shapes selected, and you want to overwrite the original segment, the option is unavailable.
Save selected fields only
Saves only the selected fields. Unavailable when no fields are selected.
Output
Select a target file for the vector data, a format for the new data, and select or create a layer in your target file.
File
Select a target file for your new layer or, to select a file not shown in the list, click Browse.
Format
Select a format for the output file.
Options
Select options based on the selected format (see Selecting GDB format options).
Layer
Select a target layer. You can also select to save your new file to a new layer.
