If an image channel is linked to a channel in another file, a Link Format item is displayed (instead of Raw Format). When you select Link Format , the title of the lowermost pane changes to Link Format Information and, in the table, the values of various link parameters are displayed.
There are three types of links:
- Non-GDB File: The linked-to file is not a GDB file. For example, when the CIM algorithm is run to create a file-interleaved PCIDSK file, the linked-to external files are not GDB files; rather, they are in a raw format and contain pure imagery data only. Information displayed includes the name of the linked-to file, image offset, pixel offset, line offset, and swap flag.
- GDB-Supported and Raw-Definable: The linked-to file is a GDB-supported file and can be raw-defined, meaning that its imagery layout can be described by image offset, pixel offset, line offset, and swap flag. Some GDB formats, such as compressed formats, cannot be raw-defined. Information displayed includes the name of the linked-to file, image offset, pixel offset, line offset, and swap flag.
- GDB-Supported and NOT Raw-Definable: The linked-to file is a GDB-supported file, but it cannot be raw-defined. Information displayed includes the linked-to channel number, and the sub-window in the linked-to file. If the file is open in the File Utility window, and is unlocked, you can modify the the link parameters.
