Modifying a style in Simple mode

You can change the appearance of a style by using Style Selector.

The style details in the lowermost area of the Style Selector window can be in either of the following modes:
  • Simple
  • Advanced

In Simple mode, you can change only the color, size, and width of the style. In Advanced mode, you have full control over the style representation. In Simple mode, the label of the button is displayed as Advanced, and in Advanced mode, the label of the button is displayed as Simple.

Note: The available style details vary according to the type of element you are modifying; that is, the details described herein vary according to the element type. Some items described may not be displayed in the Style Selector window.

To modify a style in Simple mode

  1. Select the style you want to modify.
  2. Click More.

    The window expands to display more details about the style.

  3. If in the lowermost area of the window, click Simple.

    Notice that after you click, the button label changes to Advanced.

  4. In the rightmost column of the table, click the Color arrow in the row of the part you want to change, and then in the palette, click the color you want.
  5. Depending on the type of element you are modifying, do the following:
    • Points: Type or select a value in the Scale box.

      Scale increases the proportion of the original symbol.

    • Lines: Type or select a value in the Width box, and then in the list to the right, select a unit of measurement.
    • Polygons: Type or select a value in the Outline Width box, and then in the list to the right, select a unit of measurement.
    • Text: Type or select a value in the Size box, and then in the list to the right, select a unit of measurement.
