Projection definition

The units accessed by clicking on Other in the georeference coordinate system menu are supported projections that require more than a zone and Earth model. Clicking on Other will pop up a window with a list of the other projections.

For the "Generic Projections" tab, after clicking on the desired projection then the Accept button, the Projection Definition window opens. If the GeoEdit control is in "User Controlled (affects loading)" mode, the fields to be defined are active and may be typed in or changed. Fields that do not apply for the projection are not active and appear blank.

Most of the fields are Longitudes or Latitudes. These may be specified in Degrees, Minutes, Seconds form (for example, 152d30'00.00" W or 152 30 0 w or -152 30 0) or in decimal degrees (for example, -152.5).

In general, the False Easting and Northing fields may be defaulted to zero.

For the "User Projections" tab, after clicking on the desired projection and the Accept button, the parameters for the projection are populated with those associated with the user-defined projection definition. To review the parameters, click on "More..." after the user projection has been Accepted.
