Vector projections

A vector layer includes a projection definition that indicates how the vector coordinates are interpreted in world coordinates. This can be different from the projection for any raster layers or other vector layers in the same database.

The projection definition can be for any projection. Unlike the GCP segment, there is no limitation to projections that can be defined with a map units string.

Unlike the raster projection definition, the vector projection definition does not contain any concept of a transformation between pixel, line and georeferenced coordinates.
