Pseudocolor tables (PCT)

The PCT segment contains a pseudocolor table. This is an array of 256 RGB colors used to assign color values to 8-bit images. The PCT always contains exactly 256 entries, whether they are all needed or not. File formats such as TIFF which may have color tables with less than 256 colors normally have the remainder of the color table filled up with zeros (black).

There is no support for translucent or transparent entries in the table.
