Data product name and description

Resourcesat-2 has three onboard optical sensors that reproduce multispectral bands:
  • LISS4: One mono and three multispectral (MS) bands, resolution of 5.8 m, and a swath of 70 km mono and 23 km MS
  • LISS3: Four bands, resolution of 23.5 m, and a swath of 140 km
  • AWIFS: Four bands, resolution of 56 m, and a swath of 740 km
Note: The information provided herein is based on the data distributor's documentation cited under References.

Distribution disk files

A Resourcesat-2 data set is organized in a specific folder structure on disk. GDB uses this folder structure and the file names to identify the data product type.

Warning: Data sets for this sensor are organized in a specific folder structure on disk. GDB uses this structure and the file names to identify the data product type. Do not alter the folder structure or any file names prior to data ingestion to ensure the image data and auxiliary information are imported correctly.

You open a Resourcesat-2 data set by selecting the DIMAP (*.dim) file.

When opening a data set, the files read by GDB are as described in the following tables. Depending on the sensor type, you must open various key files for GDB to read the information.
