During processing, the JPS writes the information about the event to a log file. You can view this file on the Log tab of the Job details page. The job log can be helpful in monitoring individual jobs as they occur and in troubleshooting failed jobs. In addition to the job-processing information, the log also includes information from the JPS itself, such as messages from the relevant processing server.
The log consists of separate messages for each step of the event, with the most recent messages appearing at the top. If the process is still running, the log will be updated automatically with any new messages that occur.
You can filter the messages by type. That is, on the toolbar, you can select or clear the check box of each type to filter the display.
Each message has a date-and-time stamp of the event. You can also click
) to view more information, such as:
You can also export the log to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or to a text file. To export to Excel, on the toolbar, click XLS, and then open or save the file. To export to a text file, click TXT. The log opens in your browser. You can then save the file from the browser.
To view the log of a specific job
If there are many jobs currently in processing, you may need to run a search to find the one you want. For information on how to find a job, see Searching for a job.
The Job details page appears.
