Data product name and description
Gokturk-2 is a mini-satellite built by the TÜBİTAK UZAY and Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TAI) consortium. The satellite includes the Earth Observation Satellite - Camera (EOS-C) sensors, which is a multispectral pushbroom imager.

Gokturk-2 image data is available at six different processing levels.
| Processing level | Horizontal accuracy (m) | Description/notes |
|---|---|---|
| L0 | N/A | Raw image data |
| L1 | N/A | Radiometric correction applied |
| L1R | N/A | Band registration completed |
| L2 | N/A | Georeferenced imagery |
A Gokturk-2 data set is organized in a specific folder structure on disk. GDB uses this folder structure and the file names to identify the data product type.
You can open a Gokturk-2 data set by selecting the *.package.xml file.
When opening a Gokturk-2 data set to run in CATALYST Professional, you will be prompted to select the MS or PAN data you want.
When opening a data set in a CATALYST Professional algorithm or command-line application, such as EASI, you must include the -MS or -PAN designator, as applicable, with the file name extension.
FILI=<path_name>\<file_name>.package.xml -MS FILI=<path_name>\<file_name>.package.xml -PAN
When opening a Gokturk-2 data set, the files read by GDB are as described in the following table.
| File name | Format | Required | Contents/details |
|---|---|---|---|
| *.package.xml | Extensible Markup Language | Yes | Key file name, contains data set metadata. |
| *.tif | Tagged Image File Format (GeoTIFF) | Yes | Image data, one file per spectral band. Each spectral band is stored in a separate directory below the main *.package.xml file. |
| band.xml | Extensible Markup Language | Yes | Each band directory includes a separate metadata file. |
| image_rpc.txt | Text | Yes | Rational Function model, one file per spectral band. |
Returned data for supported format
Gokturk-2 data can be opened directly in its raw vendor format or imported into a PCIDSK (*.pix) file using the key file name (*.package.xml). For optimal processing, use the PCIDSK format.
The following table describes the data structure after it is opened by GDB.
