Manually editing a DEM

After you generate a digital elevation model (DEM), the model may contain pixels with failed or incorrect values. You can manually edit the DEM to smooth out such irregularities and create a more accurate model. For example, areas, such as lakes, often contain misleading elevation values. Setting these areas to a constant value improves the final model.

CATALYST Professional Focus includes an innovative DEM Editing feature, shown in Figure 1, which you can use to modify elevation values and preview the ortho image that results from editing the DEMs.
