We first work with the client to understand the area of interest, feature of interest and surrounding terrain and land cover. From there we can suggest the most appropriate workflow. As of now we support Differential InSAR (DInSAR) and Persistent Scatterers Interferometry (PSI) with Short Baseline Subset (SBAS).

We support all major SAR satellite sensors that have the capability to capture InSAR stacks, such as: Sentinel-1, TerraSAR-X, Cosmos Skymed, ICEYE, Radarsat-2, RCM, and more 

Satellite imagery can be used to cover very large areas including entire countries and continents. We work with our client to understand the size of the area of interest that needs to be processed. With that said, our standard offering is 1 site up to 10,000sqkm, but we also special options for multiple sites and for larger areas. 

We typically use commercial data for when more detailed analysis is required or more frequent measurements. This is made possible by their higher resolution imagery and more shorter revist times.

We also leverage commercial data with open source data in a tip and cue workflow, where we use the free open source data to identify general areas where more detailed analysis should be performed

No, at least not any time soon. We see InSAR as a complimentary solution to ground surveying. It can help fill in the data gaps, both spatially and temporally from ground surveying.

There are two ways you can go about that:

  1. Use the DGPS measurements to calibrate the InSAR measurements
  2. Use the DGPS measurements as an independent validation or control

When possible, both are recommended.

Yes, when you subscribe to our CATALYST Insights service, you get access to many tools and datasets. One of the layers is a cumulative displacement point layer, which allows you to see all the past measurements for a given point.
